Community Development Block Grant Program

The Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) is a federal program, which permits a community to receive an annual grant, which may be used to fund a wide variety of activities that benefit low to moderate-income persons.  This funding is made available to the city of Bay City following submission of an acceptable Annual Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Prior to the submission of this plan, the City must hold hearing and budgeting sessions to obtain citizen’s views on community development and affordable housing needs.

CHECKLIST OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

 All applicants must submit 35 copies to the City of Bay City’s Development Services Department, City Hall, Room 413, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI  48708.

Submission Deadline is:  5:00 P.M. December 10, 2007

Exhibit A -     Narrative Describing the project/activity.  Narrative should not exceed one (1) page in length.

Exhibit B -     Narrative describing the organization, purpose, capabilities, years in operation, number and characteristics of clients.  Narrative should not exceed one (1) page in length.

Exhibit C -     Organizational Chart.  One (1) page only.

Exhibit D -     501 (C) 3 State and Federal exemption letters.

Exhibit E -     Map showing location of project/activity (if applicable)

Exhibit F -     Project Budget
