Request for Bids
The City of Bay City has absolutely reserved
the right and prerogative to reject any or all bids as well as to
waive any irregularities and informalities. The award of the
contract, if it is awarded, will be to a responsible and responsive
Bidder whom the City Commission, in its sole discretion and
judgment, determines will be in the best interest of the City of Bay
City, and which will not exceed the funds available for the project.

Sealed proposals will
be received by the City of Bay City at the Purchasing
Office, City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI,
until 2:00 p.m. on July 23, 2008. All
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on
July 23, 2008 for the Utility Poles Bid
# 09-0723 all in accordance with the Bidding
Documents, and as otherwise set forth herein.
Reconditioning & Disposal of
Transformers & Regulators
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City of Bay City at the Purchasing Office, City Hall, 301
Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI, until 2:00 p.m. on July
16, 2008. All bids will be publicly opened and
read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on July 16, 2008 for the
Reconditioning & Disposal of Transformers & Regulators Bid
# 09-0718 all in accordance with the Bidding Documents,
and as otherwise set forth herein.
Watermain & Watermain Fittings
Sealed proposals will
be received by the City of Bay City at the Purchasing Office,
City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue, Bay City, MI, until 2:00 p.m.
on July 16, 2008. All bids will be
publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on July 16,
2008 for the
Watermain & Watermain Fittings Bid # 09-0717 all in
accordance with the Bidding Documents, and as otherwise set
forth herein.
HARRY S. TRUMAN PARKWAY
TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPGRADE AND
TRUMAN CONCRETE PAVEMENT REPAIRS
BAY CITY, MICHIGAN
Sealed proposals
for the construction of the Harry S. Truman Parkway Traffic
Signal Upgrade and Truman Concrete Pavement Repairs will be
received by the City of Bay City at City Hall, 202, Bay City,
Michigan 48708 until 2:00 p.m., Local Time on Wednesday, July
16, 2008, at which time and place all bids will be publicly
opened and read.
Bidders shall review and comply with the Instructions to
Bidders, which are incorporated by reference, and carefully
review all Contract Documents, as defined in the Instructions to
Bidders. Bids submitted after the exact time specified for
receipt will not be considered.
The Contract
will consist of the following principal items of work and
appurtenances as specified herein and shown on the Contract
Drawings.
Description of Work
The work
includes:
Concrete joint,
crack, and slab repair on Harry S. Truman Parkway from
approximately 500 feet south of Marquette Avenue to Wilder Road,
and traffic signal upgrade at the intersection of Harry S.
Truman Parkway and Marquette Avenue.
Copies of Plans
and Specifications and Proposal Forms shall be available on or
after Monday, June 9, 2008 at the office of Wade Trim, Inc.,
3933 Monitor Road, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Plans and
specifications are available for REVIEW ONLY in the
Purchasing Department at City Hall, 301 Washington Avenue,
Suite 202, Bay City, Michigan 48708.
A non-refundable
payment of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars, CHECK payable to
Wade Trim, Inc. OR CASH ONLY, will be required for
each set of Drawings and Specifications. Drawings and
Specifications can be shipped by U.P.S. ground for a shipping
and handling charge of Ten ($10.00) Dollars, CHECK OR CASH ONLY,
non-refundable, to Wade Trim, Inc. The
Contractor is advised that to submit a bid on this project, the
Contractor must have obtained a set of Plans and Specifications
from Wade Trim, Inc.
Proposals
submitted by Contractors who have been debarred, suspended, or
made ineligible by any Federal Agency will be rejected.
Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or
may have against the Owner, the Architect/Engineer, and their
respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the
administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid.
Each bid proposal shall be submitted on the
proposal forms provided and shall be accompanied by a certified
check, cashier's check or bid bond, executed by the bidder and
Surety Company, payable to the City of Bay City in the amount of
Five Percent (5%) of the accompanying bid. Proposal Guarantee
shall provide assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of
the bid, execute the necessary Contract with the City of Bay
City. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing time for
receiving bids for at least sixty (60) days.
Attention is called to the fact that not less
than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the contract
documents must be paid on this project, and the contractor must
ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not
discriminated against because of their race, color, religion,
sex or national origin.
The successful
bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance,
Labor and Material, Maintenance and Guarantee Bonds, and
Insurance policies.
The City of Bay
City reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive
irregularities in bidding.
